Trade Fair Kick starts in Bhubaneswar to foster the trade and export segment in State

The MSME Trade Fair 2021 is being organized from 5th to 9th March 2021 at IDCO exhibition ground, Unit-III, BBSR.

MSME sector, being the potential growth engine of the economy, has been one of the priority portfolios of Hon’ble Chief Minister’s aspiration towards the economic development of Odisha. For rebooting the sector, hit by the COVID-19 pandemic, he has announced a special financial assistance package worth Rs.289 Crores.

Besides manufacturing; market access, trade and export are the key components for the growth of MSMEs. To foster the trade and export segment, Odisha MSME International Trade Fair is organized annually since 2013. MSMEs from across the country and from foreign countries like Iran, Bangladesh etc. also take part in the event. The event is an endeavour of the State Government to bring potential buyers & sellers to a single platform for mutually beneficial trade-in service, product and technology. It is an excellent opportunity for budding MSMEs to witness a live demonstration of machines, tools and technologies, to launch their products and also to attend seminars on various aspects of entrepreneurship.

The MSME Trade Fair 2021 is being organized from 5th to 9th March 2021 at IDCO exhibition ground, Unit-III, BBSR coinciding with the Entrepreneur’s week with taking all the safety measures in accordance with COVID-19 protocol. Hon’ble Chief Minister has given his kind consent to inaugurate the Trade Fair on 5th March 2021. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there will be no international participation. Maximum participation will be from within the state. Different PSUs of the national and state level are participating this year. Women entrepreneurs and Mission Shakti groups, Startups and the Food Processing units are the focal sectors for this year’s event. Keeping in view the prospective contribution of Mission Shakti groups in the socio-economic development of the state, special emphasis is being given to upgrading their members into successful entrepreneurs. An MoU in this regard has been signed between the MSME Department and Mission Shakti.

There will be 5 hangers with a capacity of 60 stalls each, out of which 4 hangers will be dedicated for Startups, Food Processing units, Mission Shakti, PSUs respectively and the remaining one will be for general purpose. An open platform for the demonstration of machineries and new technology has been set up.

A seminar hall with a sitting capacity of 100 will be available for conducting seminars. It is proposed to hold 5 seminars on different topics as detailed below.
