Visit Tapang for its hidden, wild gems

Tapang stone quarry is the Grand Canyon of Odisha. It is located about 40 kms away from Bhubaneswar in Tapang, Nijigada area of Khurda in the close vicinity of NH16.

The place used to be a stone mine a decade back. Excavation was going on all around the hill for stones and chips. When the excavation reached close to 150 feet below ground level sources of water emerged and ultimately it prohibited further digging.

The stone mine became abandoned and these water bodies were developed all around the hill to give it a totally different look.
