During this challenging time of COVID19 pandemic, when schools are shut, physical meetings are near impossible, getting together and playing around with friends has long been stopped, children are confined to online classes and entertainment limited inside the home.
To bring a fresh wave of change among the children amidst the gradual unlock,
MyCityLinks has come up with a unique idea for the young minds by providing them a platform and opportunity to showcase their creativity and artistic talent, online in FREEDOM FEST 2020, The event is scheduled to run for 2 weeks from 15 Aug to 30th Aug 2020, through online video platform. There are several categories of competition, the childrens were participated in quiz, painting, song, dance, anchoring, craft making, and many more.
Freedom Fest 2020 was launched on this Independence Day via video conferencing
where around 60 participants attended online along with the jury members and guests for the occasion. The guests for the launch event were Satyabrata Sanu Ratho, Editor- MyCityLinks, and Founder- Prelude, a well-known entrepreneur of Odisha, Sonu Nanda, Director, Prelude, and an experienced event management personality, Diksha Tiwary, Renowned Anchor, and Senior Associate Editor – MyCityLinks, Sulagna Routroy, Popular EMCEE, and Kuna Tripathy, Veteran Actor, Media Personality and Chairman, Odisha Film Development Corporation (OFDC).
Shri Kuna Tripathy, who is also a jury member of the online competition, encouraged the children to come out of the shell and not only show your talents through this platform but also make new friends this competition. He assured the students to keep interacting with them from time to time, guide them, and judge their performances throughout the
competition. The launch event witnessed a short quiz session, a few spectacular
performances by some of the participants and some great advice from the judges.
We thought to provide them a break from the monotonous routine of online studies and home isolation, away from their friends by indulging them in singing, dancing, art, quiz, and more.
Singing: 85 kids participated in the singing competition and there were some amazing singing, talents spotted for the finals, by our judges G Durga Prasad of DURGA Vighnanz – The Band and popular Ollywood Playback Singer Tapu Mishra..
Dance: It was a really tough fight in dance competition as 92 children showcased their superb dance skill and enthralled the judges, renowned dance master and choreographer Babu Bhai and Biddu.
Quiz: It was an equally tough battle in #The Bharat QUIZ too with Quiz Master Manas, where 78 participants fought for the finale.
Art & Best out of Waste: Some eye-capturing and heart-winning pieces of art were created by the 93 participants on the theme of “environment” and it was really difficult to select the winners for our judge, veteran art director Subash Behera.
Creative Writing, Debate, & Poetry: Creativity of the kids was at its best as the 98 participants gave some amazing poetry and debate and impressed the judges, renowned anchor and Associate Senior Editor, My City Links, Dikhya Tiwari alongwith Satyabrat Sanu Ratho, Editor, My City Links and Founder, Prelude.
Mono acting & Anchoring: We were excited to watch the 61 kids perform with their anchoring and mono-acting skills. And the participants amazed the judges, popular EMCEE Sulagna Routroy and famous media personality and Chairman, OFDC, Kuna Tripathy, with their talent.
Finals: The finale was a star studded affair as all the judges came together to encourage the finalists. And it was really a visual treat to watch these little kids give their best in each of the competition. Workshop on Psychological Impact of COVID19 Situation on Children, by Sushmita Bagchi, that was attended by many parents as well as children. The event concluded with a spectacular evening abiding to all covid SOPS at Bocca Café, all the judges were present to give the awards to the winners. Witnessing performances by the winners the ceremony got more energetic. The award ceremony was hosted by ZOOM and got live on Facebook for the audience.
