Everyone was overwhelmed with happiness by the advent of corona vaccines in India. But many did not question its efficiency. Recently many frontline workers and some people received corona vaccine in the 1st phase of immunisation. The vaccine proved to be fatal for some of them.

So both Bharat Biotech and The Serum Institute of India released a factsheet about who should not use the vaccine. According to factsheets people with a history of allergies, who are suffering from fever, who have a bleeding disorder or are on a blood thinner, whose immunity is weaker, pregnant woman, breastfeeding woman or have any other serious health-related issues should not take vaccines.

As mentioned by The Serum Institute of India (SII), Covishield vaccine should not be used by people who are suffering from severe allergic reactions after receiving a previous dose of the vaccine or if they develop a severe allergic reaction to any ingredient of the vaccine.

Health Minister Harsh Vardhan had explained that all the vaccine recipients will be tracked as if they are in a trial. The side effects of vaccines as outlined by the two companies in their factsheets are the sensation of pain, warmth, redness, itching, swelling or bruising at the site where the injection is given, feeling tired, chills or feeling feverish, headache, feeling sick, joint pain or muscle ache, a lump at the injection site, vomiting, fever, experiencing flu like symptoms, abdominal pain, enlarged lymph nodes, excessive sweating, itchy skin or rashes.

The vaccine was found to develop immunity after two doses are given in four weeks interval. However as stated by Bharat Biotech mentioned: “if the recipient suffers from serious adverse events, they will be provided a medically recognized standard of care and compensation will be paid by Bharat Biotech, if the SAE is proven to be causally related to a vaccine”.
