Secretary to the Chief Minister, Senior Odisha cadre IAS officer, VK Pandian has been felicitated with the International Hockey Federation (FIH) President’s Award, on Saturday. FIH announced Pandian as the winner of the prestigious award in a virtual conference on the concluding day of its 47th Congress.
Hockey India shared the news via it’s official Twitter handle. Congratulating the IAS officer, Hockey India said, “A well-deserved acknowledgment for his outstanding contribution and services to hockey in Odisha. ”
Earlier, Odisha has hosted many hockey matches like the Hockey World Cup-2018, Odisha Men’s Hockey World League-2017, FIH Hockey Pro-League 2020 and FIH Hockey Olympics Qualifiers for Men and Women, 2019. Meanwhile, the state will also organise the Men’s Hockey World Cup in 2023.
