Even the most fulfilling jobs have their flipside. At times people get bored at work. They become tired of doing the same repetitive task over and over again. They get frustrated of the routine. At this juncture, they need to infuse a burst of joy and enthusiasm to their daily work routine. Here are some tips to become happy at the workplace and to improve your work life and productivity at the same time.

  • Start the day with tough task: There are things you like doing and task you’d rather avoid. Instead of putting the tough task at the end of the pile, bring them to the front and start your day with these tasks. People have a natural tendency to postpone the tough tasks until they come back to haunt you at their busy hours at the workplace. By addressing them with a clear mind at the start of the day you will have more time to do the things you really love, or even take a break.
  • Be happy: Surround yourself with optimistic people, colleagues who like to have fun and who feel good about what they are doing. Happiness is a mindset. Focus on your blessings, on all the small, positive things and you will instantly start feeling better about yourself and your job. Don’t let negative things interfere with your attitude or lifestyle.
  • Have an attitude of gratitude: Be thankful to your colleagues for the respect you get from them. One of the important facts of the law of attraction is an attitude of gratitude. Thus, convey your gratitude to your boss for every project, to subordinates for their etiquette and to your organisation for the facilities and opportunities provided to you. Give respect and expect respect from them in return. Complimenting co-workers, appreciating them and being thankful for every small thing they do for your will make them- and in turn, you-happier.
  • Laugh often: Surround yourself with people and things that make you laugh or smile. It’s often said that a day without laughter is a day lost. Laughter counteracts anger and irritation. This act will act as a mood up-lifter. It could be a family photographer, a funny plaque or an internet joke on your desktop. These will act like a ray of light on a cloudy, gloomy day to make you happy.
